Awesome Fossils

Four friends, who all love music and have been playing together in one form or another for at least 12 years or so. 

As the name Awesome Fossils suggests, we're no spring chickens. But we embrace our years of earned wisdom and musical journeys. This also speaks to our repertoire. We are mostly a cover band, with songs that range decades. From The Beatles, to The Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Bonnie Raitt, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, Moody  Blues ...  a rather large variation of songs. You name it, we might just play it.

Mark Nielsen a guitarist with decades of experience, is featured as both lead and rhythm, and is also a talented vocalist. 

Chris Huey is also a multi-talented guitarist, singer-songwriter, and known to play the occasional accordion, melodica, or mandolin. 

Curt Erickson is an experienced musician mostly focused on bass, and some vocals. He has played in several bands over the years, from traditional Irish folk to garage band rock. 

Lisa Colgrove is a bit of a percussionist but mostly a vocalist. She particularly loves her conga, and has been known to play a traditional Irish drum known as a bodhran if the opportunity rises. But with the help of a small electronic table-top drum machine, lends a more pop-rock style of percussion to the band. 

We are looking to find more opportunities to play the music that we never get tired of playing.
